Hey everyone! Wow! what a showstopper these boots are! I wanted to glam up this little black dress and I’d say it is definitely glammed!
I know, it’s the beautiful color that is the eye-catcher but these boots are glamorous in other subtler ways. The heel has gold trim plus the suede and they have a little gold medallion on the ankle.
I love details like this! And they match so well with my fancy clutch (which is 1/2 off at the moment)!
As you know my calves are wide (17 inches) but are shapely. So many times wide calf boots are made like tree trunks with no shape at all. This version is shapely with the boot tapering in at the ankle and knee. I bought the wide calf version which says it has 16 inch circumference but it has stretched enough for my 17 inch calves. Ugh, as I’m writing this I see they’ve sold out! I’m sorry! If they’re this popular (I just got them last week!) perhaps they’ll re-stock them so keep checking back and I’ll keep checking too and let you all know when they’re back in stock. So frustrating to finally find a great pair to recommend and they are sold out!
If you’re looking for tall boots to fit a wide calf, I find the faux suede fabric usually has more stretch. The stiff real leather is the least stretchy and less shapely. If you’re looking online and you have slim ankles, like I do, look for the heel of the boot to look like it’s sticking out in the back like this. This indicates the ankle has some tapering.
These boots rise to just above my knee — a new height for me. This is a great way to ease into the taller boots if you’re intimidated by the mid-thigh versions. If you’re not ready for any over the knee version, the same brand has a black bootie with the gold trim and a black and gold brocade pair that are really tempting and eye-catching! This is going to be fun to style these taller boots!
