Hey everyone! So, picture this: you’re just sitting there by the side of the pool minding your own business, maybe having a glass of wine or two with a friend…

You, smart woman that you are, have with you a blazer that’s half t-shirt and half jacket (hence the “faux”). It’s cut like a blazer so it gives you the instant authority of a person wearing a blazer but it’s soft on your skin and stretches and drapes beautifully and could easily be at home in a casual setting, like sipping wine poolside. It also comes in several pretty colors and an even prettier version in plus size.

It has the raw edge hems so it is on-trend and has some nice seams that give it some shape. It sort of reminds me of my daughter’s riding jackets. The soft fabric makes it easy to push up the sleeves too which is a nice casual look. I’m still wearing my alternative to a t-shirt reversible tank top this fall since it’s still pretty warm here and sleeveless shirts work really well under this jacket.

So, now that you’ve popped on the blazer and traded out the sandals for leopard print flats you’re on your way to your Very Important Place and looking Very Important!

Happy Monday everyone!

  1. What a cute outfit Julia. I love that you’ve paired the white jeans with leopard print pumps – it’s such a cool look. The jacket is clearly a winning find, but I’m still intrigued about your VIP meeting. I do hope that this will unfold in a future post…

  2. I’m so glad to have found you and your blog! I’m also a Midwestern gal, in my 50’s, used to have a pear-shaped body that morphed into an apple shape over the past 5 years 🙂 And I’m short too!!! I found you through your comments on Tania Stephens’ blog, which I also love, but I can’t wear much of what she does due to having a different body type. You are right up my alley, except for one detail….I don’t have the chest. But I get having challenges to finding clothes that are age appropriate, attractive, and fit well.

Look forward to reading you on a regular basis.

    1. Ha ha Mary! For me that is two big details! Anyway, I still think you’ll get some good ideas from this blog and I’m so glad you found our little tribe. I love Tania, especially her use of colors, but she is built very different from me. So glad to hear from you and look further to future dialogs!

  3. Good styling. Love the pop of colour with the bag. And the daring pattern mixing in shoes and top. It all goes beautifully together. Not an easy job. (At least for me this is not an easy job.)
