Who Is The Genius Who Turned A T-Shirt Into A Dress?

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

So, this is what I wore to the musical, School House Rock last night.

At the risk of sounding like an old fogey, when did going to the theater become such a casual attire event? I’m all for casual wear but a worn t-shirt and cargo shorts? I guess I don’t go to plays very often so it’s still a dress-up event. Oh well! I looked cute in my t-shirt dress. Hmmmmm. Maybe someone wearing a t-shirt dress shouldn’t criticize someone wearing a t-shirt with shorts. Maybe.

Anyway, this is the softest t-shirt dress. Stretchy, cute and a great sleeve length. This works well with black accessories but I’m really tempted to try out gray with it too. And can you imagine how cute this is going to look with black tights and black boots? Yeah. You’re going to see this often.

These shoes you’ve seen a ton since I’ve had them for about 4 years. I noticed yesterday when I slipped them on that I’ve had them so long they conform to my feet perfectly and are so comfortable. Here and here are other ways I’ve styled them if you’re curious.

This purse you’ve seen a lot but I’ll link to it here for those of you who may have missed it the first 20 times!

This sweater was the winner of the great white sweater try-on from the summer. It’s lightweight and hangs very flatteringly. I also have it in gray that you’ve seen before but Macy’s has it in 8 colors and they’re all 30% off!

So, how was the play? It was ok. Honestly, I felt it was about one song and dance number too long and some of the characters and dialogue were starting to feel a bit outdated. Like all of the adult female characters were antagonists and most of the young girl students were back-up singers. I don’t know. I remember watching this when it was a movie and I thought it was cute, but now in 2018, it feels worn. Just me practicing being a theater critic! Take it or leave it!

I’d love to say I have some great weekend plans, but just this morning my 40 year old horse, Macho, didn’t eat his breakfast and keeps holding his head low like it’s too heavy so I’ll be keeping an eye on him. Right now he’s in his stall with his favorite mare with a fan blowing on him — it’s all his favorite things in one place! I can at least do that for him.

40 is really old for a horse so he’s had a long life and I would love for him to just close his eyes and pass away with his woman next to him and the temperature perfect with a slight breeze and the smell of fresh hay around him. But, gosh, he’s always been my favorite. Well, we’ll see.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with some fun and laughter! Me too!

I’m sorry to hear about your horse, so very sad for you. I hope it all works out as gently and kindly as possible.

  3. Oh, Macho! How is he doing now? The heat is so hard on them when they get so old 🙁

I agree about WHEN DID *EVERYTHING* GET SO CASUAL?? Travel, theater, church (and I don’t even GO to church, but I see other people going in jeans and sneakers), etc. I love seeing pictures from the 40s 50s and even early 60s…and it seems like everywhere people went, they Dressed Up. Skirts, heels, suits and hats. I mean, I don’t really want to go THAT far, but it’s nice to see…and there’s got to be a middle ground.

So how did your first week of Posting Every Day go??

    1. So with you on that Bettye! I don’t want to wear heels everywhere or a belt or hat but going to the theater seems like kind of a special occasion. I guess I’m happy there are fewer dressing rules so with that freedom comes the flipside of no rules. Well, I know I looked good!
Posting 40% more takes up 40% more of my time which I sorta knew but didn’t realize how much time that was. But, I will say, the writing comes easier b/c I’m doing every day. I hardly have any re-writes or edits now. So, maybe I’ve only increased the workload by 35%!
