A Holiday Sweater You Can Stand!

Hey everyone! I know there are a lot of Christmas sweaters out there that you can only wear for one or two days because they’re so holiday-specific or are really unattractive but I found a cute one that will work for the whole winter.

This sweater reminds me of the children’s movie Balto that my kids watched over and over when they were little. I love the husky (of course!) but also the stars. I’ve paired it with my really old leggings from Kohl’s and my tall boots.

I’ve added to my purse collection with two purses that are lower cost and lighter color this winter. I knew I’d be wearing a lot of black and I wanted to lighten up the outfits. You saw the tan and black purse last week and this cute little soft pink bag is the newest addition.

I’m down in North Carolina right now so this light faux shearling jacket is the perfect weight. And the added bonus for this coat is it can be zipped up over an ample bust, it’s available in plus size and it’s 1/2 off right now!

This is the back patio of my new house. It’s going to be my default location for photos when I don’t have time to find a better location so you’ll probably being seeing it occasionally. I’m a bit buried in boxes right now so Friday’s outfit post will be in the same location.

I also brought two of our cats down in this trip and they’re adjusting to being city cats. An orange and white neighbor cat has been trying to make their acquaintance but they’re not too sure about it!

And in the last post I mentioned I bought a Christmas wreath but wasn’t able to hang it up since half of my house is still in Michigan (really more like 2/3!) and half down here. You will be happy to know that I found what I needed to hang it up and now the house is starting to look lived in! Now, to do something about these empty rooms!

  1. Love your wreath! I haven’t done any decorating yet, maybe this weekend I can get some done.

That sweater is UH-dorable! We’re having an Ugly Christmas Sweater themed party at work and I ordered a borderline ugly/creepy (ha ha) dress, can’t wait to see it in person! I can probably get away with wearing it to the ex’es for Christmas Eve as well.

    You’re in the city now??

    1. Oh your dress sounds funny and I hope you show us on your blog! Yes, we’re in the city, actually a neighborhood, so maybe it’s not technically the city but it seems like it for me! It’s an older neighborhood (1940’s and 50’s) so it’s established with mature trees and big lots. But we can still walk to cafes and restaurants so I guess that’s why I consider it city-living.

  2. I just love your blog ! You are giving me inspiration to get out of my same old boring routine and try something new.

  3. Such a cute sweater. I’m a sucker for graphic sweaters, but I don’t like them too holiday specific. It hurts my thrifty heart to pay for something I can only wear for one or two weeks.
