Hey everyone! I know I’ve shown a lot of dresses here this fall, for all sorts of occasions, but this one is my favorite for casual or semi-casual gatherings. You’ve seen it before without the vest but I really like how it looks with the vest too. It also went out of stock for awhile bit is back in stock in all sizes!
If you recall from the first time I wore the dress I mentioned it’s actually a dark, dark blue. When I ordered it online I thought it was black. But, I persisted in wearing it the way I had planned with all black and I think it works just fine!
This dress has really nice stretch and the weight of the fabric means it hangs well and doesn’t cling. It has really pretty sleeves which are on-trend but they’re not so big that they get in the way.
Also, I mentioned a couple of posts ago, I was looking for a new long, black sweater vest. This is one of the finalists. I love the weight of it because it hangs straight down, even though it has a bit of a swingy cut to it. It’s one of my favorite fabric blends of rayon and nylon, so some stretch but skims without clinging. I only wished it had pockets!
When I wear this dress I never realize how short it is. I always feel like it hits mid-knee but when I look at these pictures I see it’s a bit shorter. If you’re not crazy about showing your leg then this dress would look super cute with some leggings or some over the knee boots.
I’ve paired it with my ever-faithful booties (similar here and here) and my “roll the dice” purse (no idea what I’m talking about? explained here).
And, if you’ve ever been curious about ordering a “one size fits all” split-back vest let me put your curiosity to rest!
Nope, not going to work in the front!
And yeah, definitely not going to work in the back! One size fits all? Puhleeeze!
Ok, that’s it for this week and this year! I’m taking next week off because of Christmas, New Year’s, relatives, friends and a trip back to Michigan. I’ll be posting the bloopers post at the start of the year. That is always a fun post to put together! I hope that whatever mixture of holidays you celebrate that you have some fun and some relaxation! Here’s to a well-dressed 2018!

Enjoy the champagne mix. It is delicious and you feel like you’re doing something halfway healthy! Enjoy the holidays Jodie!
Another lovely post Julia and a very cute dress. I don’t think it’s too short, probably thanks to the thick tights, but yes, you could wear it over leggings no problem.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to catching up with you in the New Year.
Best wishes

Oh Anna! Have a wonderful Christmas yourself!
I love this outfit on you! The stripes are so fun, the length is modern and great with the tights…but DAMN YOU VEST FOR YOUR POCKETLESSNESS!!! DAMN YOU!!!
And don’t get me started with the MYTH of “one size fits all.” Seriously.
Since you won’t be around again til after the holidays, let me wish you now A JOYOUS & PEACEFUL HOLIDAY…filled with good people, good food and good thoughts for the new year.
