Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed your long Memorial Day weekend. It was beautiful here in Michigan, so I spent a lot of time outside.
You’ve seen the skirt before (especially last summer) and the shoes (my in-between hot and cold sandals) before. The shirt is new and I think is a little bit risque! It sort of reminds me of a nightie with the lace on the top and the sheer fabric for the sleeves. I am wearing a black bra underneath so it blends in, but you could wear a black camisole covering your bra instead.
I could easily slip my black long vest over the top and then it would be very work appropriate. It’s from Christopher and Banks, and I can’t find it on their website but maybe you’ll have better luck at your local store. I’m wearing a petite XL for reference.
I hesitated writing this title because it might bring the creeps to this site. Even using “big bust”, the most innocuous description having more to do with sewing than anything else, brings them to my Instagram. In fact, when I first started here, the title of my blog brought up a few creep sites before it finally brought up rules for girls lacrosse! I found it a bit disheartening that anything dealing with “girls” and “rule” was sex-related instead of governing. Well, I’m determined to reclaim those descriptions!
Another quick post but I’ll see you all on Friday! Until then, keep reclaiming those descriptions of women that start out bland and innocent and then get usurped by the creeps — because girls rule!

That’s just a little sad about the creep sites, Julia! Because being sexy is for all of us at one time or another!!
Fabulous look!!
And here’s to reclaiming the descriptions–including being over 50!!

Yep! Seems like we’re doing a lot of reclaiming at our age doesn’t it? Style, voice, activities….Makes me feel sad for the generations before us who just accepted the limits and boxes placed around them.
Just right for date night and the sleeve is so sexy. Enjoy!
Thank you Neti! I shall!
That top is great for a bare shoulder look that isn’t too. Good interpretation of what’s ‘in’ for this season.
Ah yes, I hadn’t even thought of that! It definitely gives some coverage but still looks fresh. Thanks for popping by Jean!
You are so funny. Your top is fabulous with your skirt and sandals. One time I looked up the song Fire (Bruce Springstein) . This happened to be on a relatives computer. Warning don’t do it. I kept backing out only to have many photos I did not want come tumbling out. My husband came in to save me when he heard, help! help! Here is hoping you have a fun date night and enjoy your new top. K
Ha ha! Yelling for help was a good solution! That reminds me of when we had an exchange student and when he left we had to cleanse the computer for our little daughters to use…sigh.
Hee hee, your sexy blouse brings the creeps to the yard.
Sorry I don’t get out much these days.
But WOMAN, your bod was MADE for body-con pencil skirts! (ooh, am i one of the creeps?? ha ha)
Hope you had a nice holiday weekend.
Bettye
Thanks Bettye! I don’t consider you one of the creeps at all! You don’t personal message me on Instagram so it’s all good! I had a nice weekend and I hope you did too!
Hi I shall be unsubscribing for a short time as I am away (no computer), but I will be back.Love the skirt.
Thank you Pauline! Enjoy your time with no computer and we’ll be here when you get back!
Love those sleeves…however, you seem a bit pale. Do you use blush at all?
Ha ha! No, must be my Michigan skin. I’m not much of a makeup wearer and it’s been cool this spring so will probably be pale for awhile!
I like the pencil skirt shape on you too (this and the LulaRoe post) and I like what looks to be stretchy fabric, a fine property in a skirt 🙂 But I would like this one to be an inch or two shorter. A flowy skirt can be a little longer, but I think straight skirts look best when the hem hits above the point where the calf curves back in, rather than chopping the calf at a wide point.
Totally do-able! I’ll give it a try Ms. Diva!
