A Long Skirt and Asymmetrical Sweater

Hey everyone! Another long skirt outfit, though so much better than last Friday’s outfit. Unfortunately I had returned that skirt a couple of weeks before I posted the outfit so I can’t try out all the suggestions (though I have seriously considered going back and giving it a try!).

It started to rain while we were taking these photos so I’m a little bit cranky in them and there aren’t many to choose from, so bear with all the variety of backgrounds and the impatient face.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen the sweater before. I really love wearing it with leggings and tall boots this winter because it’s so comfy and easy to wear. The asymmetrical hem adds visual interest and it hangs nicely, so much so that I don’t feel the need to always wear a third piece. You’ve seen the skirt before here and the jacket here. I’m wearing, of course, my new black booties that you’ve seen a lot this winter.

I definitely like this length of skirt better with booties. The booties look so much better with a long skirt than tall boots because they don’t wrinkle around the ankles like the tall boots. They stay nice and structured and your ankles look slim rather than wide and wrinkly.

A woman on the go! Anyway, I’m wearing this blue color more often because Pamela of Style Yourself Confident did my colors and this color is at the top of the list of complimentary colors. So, while I wait to receive your pictures for my blog birthday party, I will be studying my colors. Thanks Pamela!

  1. I really love this jacket — I didn’t see what brand it is (from either post), did I miss it?

Anyway, I guess my go-to uniform is a black dress with an open jacket. This jacket would definitely improve my curb appeal. And my resale value! (Throwing in some car metaphors for you Detroit people 😉

    1. Ha ha Bette! We are pretty influenced by cars here! Anyway, it’s the Kasper brand from Macy’s from at least two years ago. Your go-to uniform sounds pretty practical and flattering. However, I’m wondering why you’re on sale, resale or otherwise…

  2. Love the jacket! The bright blue color was also very flattering. Thanks again for showing real women sizes. I am addicted to reading fashion blogs since I retired last spring, but get discouraged when seeing only fashionably slim ladies with what seem to be unlimited budgets.

  3. Hello! What do you mean ‘cranky & impatient ‘? You look great-luv all the pinks in the backgrounds and that sweater (especially with that fab silver necklace) is so asymmetrically perfect! I’m going on a big cross-town shopping day next weekend with friends from where I grew up and I’m def going to try and get myself a top like yours!Enjoy the “heatwave” weather being promised for this weekend🌞! C.

    1. Thanks Cathy! I am so looking forward to the warmth, even though we have nothing to complain about this winter! Have fun shopping with your girlfriends. That is a time to try different items than what you would usually buy. Perhaps one of them will snap a photo of you and you can send it to be included in the birthday/anniversary post????
